For this character spotlight post we're talking about Ye Baiyi 叶白衣, the Changming Sword immortal in SHL, who is presumably over a hundred years old, an incredibly powerful martial artist, has no time for social niceties and loves a good meal.

I love Ye Baiyi. He is one of my favourite SHL characters after WenZhou.

Ye Baiyi has pretty much seen it all, which means he has no time for other people's idiocies and usually pretends not to care. Over the course of the series we see that he is by no means heartless and does in fact care a lot about the things he deems important

For this character spotlight post, we're talking about the drama's Luo Fumeng, Xi Sang Gui, the Keeper of the List of the Unfaithful.

(In the novel, she doesn't exist at all. The novel's Xi Sang Gui is a completely different, male character; she is one of the brilliant additions made for the drama that really expand the worldbuilding and offer additional depth to the story.)

What's your favourite thing about Luo Fumeng? What's your favourite scene with her?

Why is she so gorgeous?!

Who do you ship her with? I'm very into Luo Fumeng/Liu Qianqiao myself. :D

For this first character spotlight post, we’re talking about Gu Xiang in Shan He Ling! The Amethyst Fiend. Wen Kexing’s daughter/sister. A ghost who found a path back to the human world. A most delightful young woman, no matter how you look at her.

In hopes of limiting myself so that this isn’t ridiculously long, a list of things I love about Gu Xiang, which is mostly just about her relationships with other people:

Gu Xiang tries so hard to fit into the human world, and seeing her get better at it as the show goes on is so lovely. No matter how hard her circumstances were at the beginning, she’s able to find something that doesn’t just make her happy but gives her chances to thrive instead of merely surviving.
