Character Spotlight: Gu Xiang (SHL)

For this first character spotlight post, we’re talking about Gu Xiang in Shan He Ling! The Amethyst Fiend. Wen Kexing’s daughter/sister. A ghost who found a path back to the human world. A most delightful young woman, no matter how you look at her.

In hopes of limiting myself so that this isn’t ridiculously long, a list of things I love about Gu Xiang, which is mostly just about her relationships with other people:

Gu Xiang tries so hard to fit into the human world, and seeing her get better at it as the show goes on is so lovely. No matter how hard her circumstances were at the beginning, she’s able to find something that doesn’t just make her happy but gives her chances to thrive instead of merely surviving.
